October

Present: Rhonda, Joannie, Laurie, Marcia, Dennis, Cindy B, Frank

October 6, 2008

Minutes from last meeting approved as presented.
Money was sent to Simpson family rather than flowers in Erica's memory.

No treasurer's report.

Driving protocol will remain the same for now, it will update as needed.

Joannie - update on South Shore School Emergency Preparedness Plan - we will be called out 10-17 for the drill. All EMTs are to report to the PW Fire Hall. Regular channel while in route, then switch to Bay-Tac 1, we have a back-up channel which is MARC 4. It will be necessary to carry beepers in case the ambulance is "really" needed. Sherriff's department will provide the victims. All were reminded to wear EMT identifying clothing or tags. Radio communication is difficult - transmissions from inside the school are minimal.

Marcia has prepared a form, when ANYONE takes the rig for any repair. Marcia must be called for a pre-approval before any repair. The forms will be in the garage in an orange folder between the big doors.

Money is coming in from the new billing firm, it is more costly. Marcia presented the budget, reasoning for increases, etc. Payment for runs will go from $50 to $60 per run. The incentive pay will increase from $500 to $700.

An Appreciation Dinner will be held December 1 at the Herbster Gym for the 3 Fire department and the EMTs. Marcia will taking to Judy about the planning of the dinner. Time TBA later.

Gayle and Laurie responded to a call after our rig was already on a call. They questioned the method of recording the care provided. Care of the patient was turned over to the Iron River Ambulance.

The annual refresher is tentatively planned for November 13, pending Joan getting that date approved with Carrie.

The family of a previous patient requested information on the patient's death. All EMT's were instructed that ANYONE EVER wanting information must go thru the coroner's office.

July 14, 2009 Port Wing will be hosting a group of 400 bicyclers. They have requested that we have EMTs available for the evening.

Recent runs were reviewed.

Meeting Adjourned.
