11/2/09 Present: Rhonda , Pete, Frank, Joan, Laurie, Dennis, Cindi B, Tam, Larry

Rhonda reported on the new rules and paper work for the EMTs to fill out and to be on file. Rhonda passed out the questionnaire.

Minutes were passed out and reviewed. C-cap is a typing mistake and will be changed in the minutes. Laurie made a motion to except the min. 2nd by Joan.

Tam reported on EMS Council.

Pete read an e-mail from the hospital and chopper. There is a dinner coming up to discuss the topic.

Pete brought up the question about up-dating the local guidelines for the South Shore Area Ambulance. A book for new and existing EMTs is needed. Pete is looking for people to help review and rewrite the guidelines. Pete asked the question about recruiting new EMTs. Pete talked to 3 of the 4 towns and brought up the issue of the shortage of EMTs. Discussion followed.

Pete brought up ambulance checks. Discussion and options were reviewed. Pete asked if EMTs could please post on the web site when you do a check.

Christmas party is Dec. 7 at the Village Inn in Cornucopia. Social hour at 6:00 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m. Four items could be offered or ordering off the menu is an option. The group decided to go with ordering off the menu. Cash bar.

Pete asked for everyone to go into the garage. He reviewed the air shocks location. (See the outside of the ambulance in the compartment labeled collars and KED) Behind all the equipment are 2 valves to increase or decrease the air shocks. Discussion on oxygen tanks and a leak in the O2 lines on the ambulance. Laurie will call Chicago Iron & Steel to check on tank refills, seals or gaskets for the H tank, and to have the ambulance checked for an O2 leak.

Pete reviewed WARDS.

Pete is working on new run reports to help the hospital and WARDS.

Pete brought up pay roll. Discussion followed. Marcia will continue doing pay roll for this year.

Laurie reviewed the names of EMTs taking the refresher this winter.

Rhonda did fit tests for the EMTs.

Adjourn by Laurie and 2nd Cindi. Motion passed 8:35 p.m.
