February 6, 2012

Present: Patti, Dennis, Frank, Gayle, Joan, Larry, Judy, Marcia, Laurie Absent: Pete, Stacy, Cindi B. Cindy L. Carrie, Tam

Meeting called to order by Gayle January minutes approved as written Laurie moved, Patti 2nd to accept January minutes as written. Motion passed

Treasurers Report: $4,850.08 Flowers to the Larson Funeral $50.00 No BAC report

2 EMTS and driver left due to fire call about 6:45 pm.

OLD BUSINESS: Refresher: Cornucopia refresher canceled due to not enough participants. EMT's had not signed up in time.

NEW BUSINESS: Fund raising: Laurie reports that she will no longer being doing the Sounds of Sirens fundraiser. We received approx. $1200 a year from this but had little participation. The EMTs receive $1.90 for every $2 ticket sold. Laurie asked if the Auxiliary would like to take this on. She sells about 650 tickets a year. Marcia will present this at the next auxiliary meeting.

Laurie also had brought along a fund raising idea of selling Seerogy chocolates and coffee (thanks for the treats/samples). It was agreed that this would be presented to the auxiliary also. EMTs question if the auxiliary might do a fund raiser during EMS Week?

Filed Bridge Problems - Gayle had problems posting a run with the attachments; she will continue to work on this and will keep all updated, There will be a small notebook with help hints and tricks to help with the problems that EMTs may encounter. This will be kept in the ambulance somewhere accessible to the computer area (to be determined.

Lengthy discussion on EMTs not signing up for the refresher, 7 active EMTs and 5 that are on the roster that have not been very active. Only 3 had signed up prior to the Cornucopia refresher. Refresher for IR starts this weekend, Bayfield will be held in March. It seems most everyone has signed up for refresher at either Bayfield or Iron River. There are 3 EMTs that have not been heard from definitively. Lengthy discussion on what is going to be expected with the change coming that EMTs will need to be Nationally Registered. Some discussion about checking into the individual refresher for 2014. Gayle will check with WITC and find out how it works.

Everyone is encouraged to seek out new EMTs.

Cleaning the hall and ambulance checks are all one package deal. PLEASE remember to clean after yourself and pick the hall if you do a check, this is part of the sign off. Discussion on who is responsible to take the trash to the dump and shovel the snow. Several EMTs will ask individuals to take the trash to the site, over the winter the TOC garage is where the dumpster is at. The TOC no longer does any work at the hall; it is up to the EMTs to take care of the grounds.

Judy was updated on the ice build up on the SE corner of the building, she will look into this.

TRAINING: Suggestion for training was to have some short ones before the meeting; everyone would know ahead of time.

HIPPA forms, not sure if they are updated, will attempt to get a copy of IR's, they are still all paper and these are to be used if for some reason computer not working. Remember either a family member or nurse can sign.

Herbster Community Club would like to purchase a community functional defibrillator and have it housed at the Town Hall. SS EMTs would take the responsibility to maintain this and set up guidelines. This was agreed upon unanimously as they are great supporters of the ambulance and it will be good for the community. .

Motion made to adjourn by Laurie and 2nd by Marcia.
