November 4, 2013

Nov. 4, 2013

Present: Patti, Marcia, Dennis, Tam, Emily EMR: Paul, Larry

Approval of July 1st 2013 minutes tabled due to no quorum.

Town Budget Report: Tam reviewed Budget approved for EMT/EMR pay and Incentive. EMT completed run $75.00 Intercept $75.00. On-call pay will stay at .50/hour.

BAC-EMS Meeting: Tam reported WITC is scheduling refresher classes. Tam reported new protocols coming up. Training workshops and Train the trainer workshops TBA.

Old Business: Gayle sent refresher schedule for South Shore and is waiting to hear back from Cindy at WITC. We will get back to everyone on this schedule.

Tam passed out the second half of the year stipend/incentive. Review on your own and make any corrections and give them to Laurie ASAP. Question; Where are the mileage forms? Marcia will e-mail Gayle.

LOSA: Tabled

Radio and pager checks: Radios are working fine. No problems to report. Emily was having problems with her pager not holding a charge. Marcia and Paul figured out the problem and the pager was working before the meeting ended.

Christmas Party: Marcia will head up the Christmas dinner. It will be Sunday, Dec. 1 at 5:00 p.m. with snacks and dinner at 6:00 p.m. in Port Wing. The place and menu will be sent out via e-mail later this month. At this point the dinner replace out regular monthly meeting on Monday, December 2. (We may need a short meeting to review the times and dates of our upcoming refresher class.)

New Business: Tam reminded everybody that they need to have a responsible party to make sure the run reports are in on time. This could be the lead or primary EMT. Do not forget to use the scanner. If you need a refresher on how to use the scanner see Gayle. Marcia and Patti reported that the ambulance was a mess. Very muddy and dried blood was found on the window in the ambulance. FYI - - - DO NOT FORGET TO CLEAN THE AMBULANCE AFTER EACH RUN. Thank you.

In case of mechanical or other ambulance difficulties when on a run call the local fire department first, before a towing company for small jobs. A & L in Iron River also has a tow truck. Paul stated that the ambulance needs to have tow hooks both on the back and front of the ambulance.

Run review: Reviewed a few calls both full calls and non-transports.

No other new business to report.

January meeting will be Monday, January 6, 2014 at 6:30 pm at the Herbster Ambulance Hall.
