Treasurers Report

BAC-EMS Meeting

Ambulance Maintenance:

Communications: List of radios…everyone bring their radios to the next meeting?

Hall Maintenance: Travis: long list of stuff that needs to be purchased—is that authorized? Patti- we’re trying to go with the FD and the town, let Tracy know what we need and we’ll order it. Patti- the phone in the garage isn’t working right, should check that out. Laurie- it’s been that way for a while…

HIPPA:

Procurement: Marcia is going to take over for Dennis. Joanie offered to train.

Quality Assurance: 2 runs and 1 standby. Reiterated that there needs to be at least one driver listed on our run reports. Reiterated that patient or patient’s representative (power of attorney) needs to sign form, also if patient themselves didn’t sign, there needs to be an explanation. State says we need to use our ‘standard’ form, not the ‘standard 2’ template. Lifequest needs an actual copy of the insurance card if they have one, not just the info. Also reminded that we need to keep a copy of the face sheets.

We need receipts for gas and snacks in Directors’ box. We also need a copy of everyone’s drivers’ license. Any requests for reimbursement need to be approved by the director FIRST before they get submitted to the town of Clover.

Bylaws: Gayle: I made the changes we discussed last time. Changed the training meetings to 6:30, as discussed. Patti: I move that we approve the changes to the bylaws. Motion passed by voice.

Old Business

New Business Guidelines for fire standby calls…Dennis wanted us to discuss it. Ideas about procedures/protocols? Gayle remembers his concern was how to corral a firefighter who doesn’t look like he’s doing well, we should tell the chief or incident commander to communicate to the person in question that they should get care/ go rest/ etc. Dennis was also concerned about there being a method for knowing which EMTs are there/ where they are. Patti: Dry erase (accountability) board to keep track of people? Joanie: There was an incident a few years ago where a firefighter went to the ambulance and no one was there. Gayle: We should go to the firefighters (South Shore Fire Association) and discuss what they would like us to do. Patti: Anyone interested in being the SSFA Liaison? Next meeting Tuesday July 14, 7pm. Talk to John Wilke to get this item on the agenda. Paul is going to mention it at the next fire meeting. Frank: If we are on a fire standby and meanwhile we get paged out to another call, what do we do? Gayle: We call another service. Technically we are liable to stay at our first call. Also, important we click the correct template. Fire standby: no patient template. Patti: Input on when we do our refresher? ‘Winter’ after the holidays is the consensus (January). Laurie: We need to be sure to register early so we can keep our class preference. Voted for a combination of weeknights and weekends. Patti: If anyone has any preferences, email her.

Run Reviews: Discussion of where we met the intercept on one of the last runs and whether or not we had lights and sirens before and after we met them. Anything go especially well or things we could work on? Alcohol poisoning 2 days after having a glass of wine (allergic), thinking it was a stroke? Some unsolved mysteries surrounding a fall out of bed on one of the calls, possible stroke, ER doctor questioned some of the circumstances. Mentioned that Laura Krist (from Lifequest) said that if we don’t document lights and sirens, Medicare is reluctant to pay out. Must document a need for emergency services.

Laurie has the current payroll to be approved. Also wondering if we are still looking for an automatic BP cuff, or if there is anything we want more (wants a prioritized list), can look up funding, etc. while she is in Alaska.

Gayle is wondering if there are volunteers to trial outfit the Gator for equipment soon. Also wants to slate Gator training soon. Patti moves to adjourn the meeting. 5:52
